Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes eleven new lawyers who will establish the Medicare Compliance practice in the firm`s Pittsburgh office. The group includes five partners Michelle Allan, Travis Smith, Ciara Koba, Bridget Smith and Kimberly Young and six partners Durwin Fuller, Jr., Logan Pry, Rachel Maldonado, Amanda Palbus, Melanie Schafer and Nathan Ward. All join Gordon & Rees of Burns White. Michelle Allan is co-chair of Gordon & Rees` Medicare Compliance practice. She specializes in health insurance issues arising from the resolution of workers` compensation, longshoremen`s compensation, the Jones Act and general liability claims. She has been instrumental in the successful resolution of tens of thousands of cases across the country involving issues with secondary Medicare payers. His work includes preparing Medicare decommissioning agreements and approving them by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Allan makes recommendations on how best to consider and protect Medicare`s interests while balancing the interests of his clients on claims that do not require Medicare approval. In addition, she negotiates contingency payments for Medicare and has saved her clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in privilege reimbursements. Allan is a recognized national speaker on topics related to Medicare secondary payer and frequently lectures on Medicare compliance for insurance companies, self-insured companies, third-party administrators, law firms, and other professional associations. Allan is licensed in Pennsylvania.

She received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and her bachelor`s degree from Indiana University in Pennsylvania.
